What’s New at Oncology Specialists
While the daily routine of caring for our patients is how we spend most of our time, we constantly attend to the needs of our practice for progress and growth, because this is how we address our goals of providing cutting-edge clinical care. We work to stay abreast of new developments, not only in medical treatment, but in the areas of patient rights, quality service, and adherence to regulations and best practices.
Here are some special features of our practice:
In 2005, we added computed tomography (CT) and positron emission tomography (PET) scanning to our available services. We hope these new services will help integrate the care we deliver, by:
- Providing convenient access to scanning services for our patients whose treatment requires them
- Allowing for these medical imaging services to be billed by Oncology Specialists along with all the other services we provide, helping our patients minimize the number of providers with whom they must interact
- Giving our physicians rapid access to the results of scans without the need to go outside our practice for reports
We continue to develop the use of the AIM Higher program at our Park Ridge office. This trial program sponsored by Supportive Oncology Services, a division of West Clinic, helps our patients assess and report on their health and receive important educational information while efficiently providing our physicians with up-to-date information on side effects and similar responses to treatment.
